11+ entry: entrance examination; 16+ entry: minimum grade 7 in four subjects, minimum grade 6 in Mathematics and English GCSE/IGCSE, minimum grade 7 in subjects to be studied at A Level (grade 8 for Mathematics, grade 9 for Further Mathematics), plus reference and personal statement; successful candidates invited for interview.

The House system provides a 'family within the school', with tutor groups following House lines.
