Entrance requirements

Pupils sit entrance papers at 11+, 13+ or 16+ entry. All candidates are also interviewed. Past papers available for 11+/12+ and 13+ entry. For 16+ entry, knowledge generic to GCSE courses is expected; past papers not available. Bursary decisions made approximately two years ahead of entry.

Boarding & pastoral

Boarding type: Full

Dining: All pupils dine in their House dining room along with their Housemaster or Housemistress, teaching staff and Matron.

Pastoral care: Boarding houses have around 60 pupils, with 12 pupils in each year group. Every House has a resident Housemaster/Housemistress and Matron, as well as a Deputy Hsm and numerous Tutors. Each pupil has a House-based Tutor with whom they meet regularly, including lunch at least twice a week. Each Tutor group consists of around 8–10 tutees. All pupils dine in their House dining room along with their Housemaster or Housemistress, teaching staff and Matron.
