Pre-Prep: Taster Session observation. Junior School (7+): Reading and written assessment (English, Maths, Non-Verbal Reasoning). Senior School 11+/13+: English, Maths, Non-Verbal and Verbal Reasoning, Creative Writing (13+ also includes Science). Sixth Form: Minimum six grade 7s at GCSE, grade 7 in Maths and English, grade 7 or 8 in subjects to be taken at A-level; interview with Head and Director of Sixth Form.

Boarding type: Day
Dining: Lunches are compulsory for girls from Reception to Year 7 (Upper 3), charged termly at £5.10 per day. Older girls may opt for school lunches termly or bring a packed lunch.
Pastoral care: The Maynard has been twice awarded the Wellbeing Award for Schools (2019 and 2023), the only school in Devon to achieve this. The Hub is open for students to talk to the pastoral team. Before and after school care is available between 08:00 and 17:30. SEND support is available.
